At Saxton Bampfylde, our culture is about the people who make it and truly live our values, and often this goes beyond life with the company. So we were delighted to recently hear from our former colleague and Partner, Jess Visser, who is working as part of a team to set up a social enterprise.
Strength & Stem is a florist that empowers survivors of human trafficking through meaningful employment, life-giving community and skills training. Jess is currently raising money for a pilot series of florist workshops which will run over a series of months, will teach ten women a range of floristry skills including hand-tied bouquets, buttonholes, flower crowns, wreaths and table arrangements. For the duration of the pilot they will be working with British flowers and without floral foam to reduce carbon footprint and waste, and to enhance the sustainable and ethical nature of the training.
We wish Jess and the team the very best of luck and future success for this wonderful initiative.
