Appointment of new Chair to Oxford Policy Management’s Board

David has spent most of his professional career with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a leading global strategy consulting firm, working primarily on projects involving major strategy and organisational change. At BCG David rose to become a Partner, Global Leader of the firm’s Financial Institutions Practice, Chair of all BCG’s Global Practice Areas, and a Member of its Executive, Operating and Global Partnership Committees. David stepped down from his executive role at BCG in 2019 but continues to work as a Senior Advisor to the firm, where he remains a Senior Partner Emeritus. He is also a non-executive on two non-profit boards.

David will formally join the Board on 23 June 2022 and, after a short induction and handover, will take over as Board Chair from the current Interim Chair, Roger Cooke. All OPM’s Non-Executive Directorship appointments require shareholder affirmation and accordingly David’s first three-year term as Board Chair will commence following our Annual General Meeting in October 2022.

To have someone of David’s calibre and experience in guiding and supporting OPM’s management in developing our strategic approach to these challenges is an enormous asset.”

David Rhodes said: “I am very excited to be asked to Chair the Board of OPM. Low- and middle-income countries are facing many difficult challenges. OPM’s mission to help them address these issues through implementing policy reform is one which resonated strongly with me.”

David was selected from an outstanding field of diverse candidates following a rigorous and intensive selection process led by the Board’s Nominations Committee with the assistance of search consultants, Saxton Bampfylde. We have also retained Saxton Bampfylde to help us recruit Non-Executive Directors and expect to announce their appointments over the next weeks and months. A key criterion for us in the selection of new Directors is to ensure that the Board’s overall composition will be appropriately diverse.
