
WCMC, the Cambridge-based conservation charity operating in collaboration with UNEP, has announced that Ashley Highfield will become Chair of its Board of Trustees this September. Ashley brings a distinguished career spanning technology, media and purpose-driven leadership, with senior roles at the BBC, Microsoft and most recently as Chair of the Eden Project.
The appointment comes at a pivotal moment for nature science and policy, with WCMC playing a central role in providing the data and insight that governments and businesses need to address the global biodiversity crisis. Ashley has spoken of his particular interest in how artificial intelligence can help accelerate environmental decision-making at scale.
