WRAP

Chair

Job Reference XBDXA
Closing Date Monday 11 Jul 2022

The current fragility of our global systems highlights the huge and immediate need to address the complex issues at the heart of climate change. At the same time, a range of competing pressures such as wars, food shortages and economic headwinds, means that the urgency of addressing the climate emergency is suddenly under threat.

For over two decades, WRAP has been at the forefront of making the world a more sustainable place, exemplifying positive, future-focused leadership. We bring people and organisations together, acting on facts, to drive focused outcomes and catalyse meaningful change. We have helped the UK reduce food waste by 27%, the carbon impact of UK clothing by 16% and water footprint by 19% as well as lowering the use of problematic or unnecessary plastic packaging sold in the UK by 40% since 2018. From our UK roots, we have expanded internationally to work in 40 countries worldwide as well as in scale and capability.

Following the successful tenure of Julie Hill, we are now looking for an outstanding and ambitious Chair to help lead and drive our ambition for significant growth, development and impact, both in the UK and especially, internationally. You will be an established leader with a proven track record of leading and scaling an organisation in the commercial, public or voluntary sectors. You will have the experience and network to help grow the international reach and impact of WRAP, with the credibility and ambassadorial skills to help us pursue our mission. Candidates will bring board and preferably chairing experience along with energy, passion and a deep commitment to WRAP, its mission and its values.
