The British Sign Language Broadcasting Trust (BSLBT) have announced the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer; Camilla Arnold will be taking up the post in early 2023.

Camilla has developed, directed and produced many TV programmes and films throughout her career, including several for BSL Zone.  She will be leaving her roles as Series Producer for BBC’s See Hear and Creative Director at Flashing Lights Media to become CEO, taking over from Ruth Griffiths, who is retiring.

Camilla said: “I am honoured to be joining BSLBT and look forward to a new era of positive change where we reach more Deaf people with BSL programmes that they want to watch, and we develop and nurture more deaf media professionals and talent.  We are entering a very exciting time for BSLBT.”

Tim Patterson, BSLBT’s Chair, added: “We’re thrilled to welcome Camilla to the BSLBT team and look forward to working with her.  Her knowledge of TV production and the broadcasting industry will be invaluable to BSLBT, and we are excited to see what the future holds.”
