Tofunmi Omisore recognised in the ‘150 Future Leaders’ List by Powerful Media

Congratulations to Saxton Bampfylde Partner and Researcher, Tofunmi Omisore, who has been recognised in the ‘150 Future Leaders’ list of the UK’s most outstanding African and African Caribbean Students and new Graduates in 2020 by Powerful Media‘s Future Leaders Magazine.

Each year, Future Leaders identifies those progressive individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and who have made a positive contribution to their community outside of their university studies. Now in its 12th year, the publication is used as a role model guide to inspire and raise attainment within African and Caribbean demographics in the UK. All students featured are first nominated by universities, organisations and peers throughout the UK. Those shortlisted are then invited in for an interview by Powerful Media, before the final 150 are selected.

Tofunmi joined Saxton Bampfylde in November 2020 and graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BA Hons in Politics and International Relations. As the BME Events Officer at her University, Tofunmi was instrumental in the organisation of events for Islamophobia Awareness Month and Black History Month. She was President of the Radical Youth Society overseeing projects including the Homeless Outreach and annual gospel production. In 2018 Tofunmi was selected as the UK delegate of the bi-annual Commonwealth Youth Forum, as part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government where she engaged in discussions with senior members of No. 10 Downing Street, whilst representing the UK at the forum.

“Working in executive search means that I get to have an impact on the people that will lead many of the organisations across a variety of different sectors. I recognise the potential impact that a leader can have on the way an organisation is run, the people within an organisation, and on society more generally. So I was truly honoured to find out that I had been selected as one of the top 150 Future Leaders in this year’s edition of the magazine. I hope that my work will always have a positive impact on society in one way or another, and I am glad that I have been able to start doing this through my work at Saxton Bampfylde.”
