Nacro has announced that Enver Solomon will be joining the organisation as Chief Executive in March 2026.
Enver Solomon is currently Chief Executive at the Refugee Council, a position he has held since November 2020. He will be replacing Campbell Robb, who recently departed to lead the Canal and River Trust after six years with Nacro.
Enver Solomon is a high-profile charity leader with a strong track record of running organisations that support and campaign with marginalised groups. Prior to leading the Refugee Council, he served as CEO of the charity Just for Kids Law. He has held leadership positions in key criminal justice organisations, including the Prison Reform Trust and the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies, as well as children and young people’s organisations including The Children’s Society and National Children’s Bureau.
He has influenced policy at the highest level of Government and has served on advisory boards for the Department of Education, HM Inspectorate of Prisons and the Office of the Children’s Commissioner. He has also chaired a number of cross-sector coalitions including the Standing Committee for Youth Justice and the End Child Poverty Campaign.
He was named CEO of the Year by Charity Times in 2023.
Nick Hardwick, Chair of the Board of Trustees, welcomes Enver:
“Enver brings a wealth of experience and a strong history of championing social justice through charity leadership. I have no doubt that he will bring the passion and integrity which has driven his work at the Refugee Council and throughout his career to the work of Nacro.
“He joins us at an important time – in a year when we celebrate Nacro’s 60th anniversary but at a time when the challenges for the people we support are keenly felt. I look forward to working together to deliver even more impact for the people we support.
“I would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to Campbell Robb who has been a fantastic Chief Executive of Nacro for 6 years and who will be deeply missed. And also particular thanks to Helen Dyson, Director of Support and Advice Services at Nacro, who is currently serving as interim Chief Executive, supported by the board and her Executive Leadership Team colleagues.”
Enver Solomon said of his appointment:
“Nacro has long been a charity I have admired for the critical work it does across England and Wales supporting some of the most disadvantaged people in society who are homeless, who have struggled in mainstream education, or who are caught up in the criminal justice system. The people and communities it works with are often most impacted by the Government’s actions but have the least influence.
“Nacro’s mission remains as important as ever at a time when the country’s social problems require urgent attention. That’s why I’m delighted to be joining an organisation which not only provides vital services to tens of thousands of people at critical points in their lives but also puts the people it supports at the heart of their work and campaigning. After six decades Nacro’s mission remains as important as ever at a time when the country’s social problems require urgent attention so that those who face multiple disadvantage can fulfil their potential and communities can thrive.”
