The Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh is looking for a new Executive Director to co-lead the Company as it starts its sixtieth anniversary year.

The Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh is the leading producing theatre in Scotland and one of the United Kingdom’s most prolific theatre companies. The Lyceum has developed a reputation for innovative high-quality theatre, drawing on the considerable talent in Scotland and developing award-winning work and co-productions for national and international stages. The Lyceum also offers a well-attended and varied programme of engagement, outreach, youth theatre and schools’ projects delivered by The Lyceum’s Creative Learning team, and is proactively improving diversity, equality and inclusion organisationally and artistically.

Following the announcement that Mike Griffiths will be leaving his role at the Royal Lyceum Theatre in October, we are seeking a new Executive Director. The Executive Director works closely with the Artistic Director / CEO. Together, they are responsible for leading the company and providing clear decisive direction, motivation and purpose. Alongside these key responsibilities, the ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering a strong Financial and Stakeholder Management Strategy and will help to deliver our overall business outcomes.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and dynamic individual who has professional experience in working in a charity with a good knowledge of the arts, who shares the theatre’s values, and bold ambitions to seek out and reach new audiences and communities in Edinburgh, who will continue to broaden networks nationally and internationally, and who has diversity and inclusion at the heart of their thinking.

The Lyceum particularly encourages applications from individuals who have been historically underrepresented due to age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, faith or belief, education, or socio-economic background.
