Director of Delegate Sales
SXSW London is seeking an experienced Director of Delegate Sales to spearhead their commercial growth and drive the ticket sales strategy that generates two-thirds of the event’s revenue. This pivotal role combines strategic sales leadership with product marketing expertise, requiring a commercially minded professional who can develop comprehensive B2B sales strategies across multiple channels including outbound sales, performance media, direct sales, and agency partnerships. Reporting to the Marketing Director, the successful candidate will lead a dedicated sales-focused team while owning the entire customer lifecycle from acquisition through retention and renewal, working closely with the Marketing Director, CEO and Board on critical pricing strategy and product development initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings 8-10 years of senior B2B sales experience with product marketing responsibility, ideally from the events, conferencing, or technology sectors with complex sales cycles. They will possess exceptional relationship-building skills capable of engaging C-suite executives and SME decision-makers, combined with advanced analytical abilities to optimise performance across sophisticated datasets. This role demands strategic thinking paired with hands-on execution, requiring deep understanding of performance marketing, CRM systems, and sales analytics tools. The Director of Delegate Sales will manage both direct sales operations and external agency relationships while collaborating with marketing, commercial and sponsorship teams to maximise cross-selling opportunities and drive ambitious revenue targets.
