RSPCA
Chair
Imagine a society where compassion for animals is at the heart of every decision. As Chair of the RSPCA, you’ll help make this vision a reality.
For over 200 years, the RSPCA has been a powerful voice for animals – rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming countless lives, campaigning for landmark legislation, and inspiring millions to take action. Today, animals face greater and more complex challenges than ever before, from low-welfare farming and climate change to the pressures of the cost-of-living crisis. Our new strategy sets out an ambitious response, and we need strong, values-driven governance to see it through.
We are now seeking an outstanding Chair of Trustees to lead our Board in guiding the organisation through this next chapter. This is an opportunity to shape the future of one of the UK’s most loved and trusted charities, ensuring we deliver meaningful impact at scale.
As Chair, you’ll provide strategic leadership to the Board, working in close partnership with the Chief Executive and senior team. You’ll ensure strong and effective governance, enabling courageous decisions and safeguarding the charity’s independence and integrity. You’ll bring excellent Chairing skills and experience, complex organisational leadership experience, strategic judgement, and the ability to unite and inspire trustees, executive leaders, volunteers, and stakeholders. Above all, you’ll share our deep commitment to building a kinder world for every animal.
This is a unique moment to lead the governance of a historic organisation that is modernising rapidly and determined to increase its reach and relevance. If you believe in the power of compassion and collaboration to create lasting change, and have the leadership experience to guide us, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Help lead the RSPCA to create a better world for every animal.
