Autism Unlimited
Chair
Autism Unlimited exists to support and empower those living with autism. Affecting around 700,000 people in the UK, we recognise the challenges for children, adults and their families and will work with them as partners to find solutions and create opportunities through tailored learning and support. As a team of nearly 500 employees, Trustees and volunteers combined, we provide a range of services including Portfield School, residential homes, community support services and a community connection service, and are one of the largest regional charities in the UK. This is a pivotal time as we enter an ambitious period of strategic growth and development, aiming to double our impact over the next three years.
We are now looking for an inspirational Chair to oversee and lead our Board of Trustees in the delivery of Autism Unlimited’s strategy and shaping future direction, financial management and governance. The Chair will champion our work by supporting our activities, fostering networks within wider communities and promoting what we do to broaden our reach and influence.
Working with our dynamic and visionary CEO, the successful candidate will bring an impressive professional track record and a commercial approach allowing them to assume leadership of the Board with a high degree of credibility and impact. Some experience of the not-for-profit sector as either an executive or non-executive is preferred. We welcome applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds, including those with lived experience of autism, who would be chosen for the skills and expertise they can bring to Autism Unlimited’s delivery of support and services.
