Bridge House Estates

Investment Committee Members x 2

Job Reference RBJIB
Closing Date Friday 07 Jul 2023 (Now Expired)

At Bridge House Estates we are one of the oldest and largest endowed charitable trusts in the country with the unique responsibility to maintain and support five bridges crossing the River Thames – Tower Bridge, London Bridge, Southwark Bridge, Millennium Bridge and Blackfriars Bridge. Beyond our primary purpose to maintain and support the bridges, in the last 28 years we have also supported Londoners experiencing disadvantage and marginalisation, helping them to thrive through the distribution of over £760m of charitable funding, delivered in the name of City Bridge Trust (the charity’s funding arm).

The Bridge House Estates Board is responsible for the day-to-day governance, management, and administration of Bridge House Estates and after a significant level of change to our governance structures we have set up the Investment Committee whose remit is to oversee the investment functions, including the social investments of Bridge House Estates.

The Investment Committee of the Bridge House Estates Board is responsible for the strategic oversight and monitoring of the performance of the charity’s investment portfolio valued at £1.7bn split between property, financial and social investments. The committee reports to the Bridge House Estates Board. Formed of up to six members, the Committee will be making strategic decisions about how best to allocate these resources in a way that maximises the charitable impact we are able to have.

Guided by our overall vision for a better-connected London, we are looking for two new external committee members who have expertise in impact investment, who share our aim to ensure the long-term prosperity of Bridge House Estates for the benefit of London and who are committed to embedding Climate Action and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion into everything we do. You will bring senior level experience in investment management specialising in either financial, property or social investments.
