Bromley High School is an academically selective independent school of 900 girls, from 4-18, occupying a 25-acre site in leafy Bickley, Kent. Founded 140 years ago, the school was built around the motto Fides et Opera, by Faith and by Works, with the aim to imbue pupils with self-belief and the conviction that much may be achieved by hard work and consistent effort. Bromley High School is now seeking an outstanding Director of Finance & Operations, who can lead as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to deliver the strategy, ‘Towards 140 and Beyond.’ They will play a key role in long-term strategic development and planning for the whole school and have responsibility for the School’s financial performance, as well as all commercial and operational matters. As part of the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), they will also have the opportunity to collaborate with 25 schools across the junior, senior and sixth form phases, and benefit from the wider support of the extensive Trust finance, operations, HR and legal teams.
The successful candidate will bring first-class financial and operational leadership skills, with proven budgetary expertise and senior management experience including strategic planning, administration, financial management, staff management and project control. They will have the capability to act as ambassador for the School and wider Trust both internally and externally, as well as demonstrating a strong commitment to girls’ education, to the ethos of the School and sharing ideas across the Trust.
