Centre for Homelessness Impact

Director of Evidence

Job Reference RBWCA
Closing Date Monday 25 Aug 2025 (Now Expired)

At the Centre for Homelessness Impact, we believe that homelessness is not inevitable—and that better use of evidence and data can help end it for good. As a What Works Centre launched in 2018, we’re working to transform how homelessness is tackled across the UK. By generating and sharing high-quality evidence, empowering practitioners and policymakers, and driving systemic change, we’re helping to build a society where homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring.

This role presents a rare opportunity to shape and lead one of the most influential evidence portfolios in the field. As Director of Evidence, you will drive forward our commitment to methodological rigour, innovation, and practical impact. You’ll work closely with our programmes team and stakeholders across government, academia, and frontline services to design and oversee robust evaluations, translate insights into action, and ensure our tools and resources meet the needs of those tackling homelessness at every level. Your leadership will be central to our work on prevention and our growing contribution to major initiatives the UK-wide Test and Learn Programme commissioned by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, a ground-breaking programme to generate new evidence of what works to relieve and prevent rough sleeping and other forms of homelessness and HRH Prince William’s ‘Homewards’ programme.

We are seeking a strategic, collaborative, and experienced research leader who brings both technical expertise and a deep commitment to social change. If you have a strong track record in commissioning and conducting impact evaluations, are passionate about applying evidence to drive systemic improvements, and thrive in a fast-moving, purpose-driven environment, we would be delighted to hear from you. This is a unique chance to join a high-performing and values-led team making a real difference across the UK.
