The Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) is a global membership institution with over 5000 members. Through education and research it is ensuring that the professional standards of geospatial engineers and commercial managers working within the infrastructure sector is upheld and constantly improving.

The Institution’s members are responding to a rapidly changing industry, seeking solutions to the greatest challenge facing society including climate change. CICES recognises that its members have an opportunity to influence change in construction methodology and practice, by embracing new digital ways of working and developing diverse and inclusive teams. CICES is driven by a desire to build a global reputation for challenging current norms and influence change.

It is against this exciting backdrop that CICES seeks to appoint a new CEO, who will lead the delivery of the Institution’s new strategic plan. They will focus on building the Institution’s reputation and increasing its influence globally, ensure that consistently high-quality services and support are made available to members. The new CEO will maintain a consistently high-quality, member focussed service, ensuring a bespoke and tailored product offering is made available to all members. They with be accountable to the institution’s Council of Management Overall, providing clear and impactful leadership to the Institution and the industry.

CICES wish to appoint an experienced executive leader. The successful candidate will leverage strong interpersonal skills, and be able to influence at senior levels: the ability to engage in a meaningful way with a varied stakeholder group will be essential. The CEO will be expected to engage with a diverse membership, staff, with Government and other stakeholders: they will lead the organisation, articulating a vision for members, based on a sound knowledge of the issues and opportunities that they face.
