Finance Director
As the expert body for professional development and standards in the Further Education (FE) and Training sector, everything the Education & Training Foundation (ETF) does is about improving the quality of teaching for learners. ETF supports and develops teachers, trainers and leaders across the sector, helping them to achieve their professional development goals for the benefit of learners and employers.
Its professional membership body, the Society for Education and Training (SET), has over 22,000 members, making it the largest professional membership organisation for practitioners in the post-16 sector. And ETF through SET remains the only body which confers Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status and Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).
ETF now seeks an outstanding Finance Director to join the team. He/she will provide advice and guidance to the senior management team, the Director of Corporate Services and the Board, whilst leading and inspiring the wider Finance function. He/she will also act in a business partnering capacity for the CEO. The role will be accountable for all regulatory and statutory reporting to the board and for ensuring ETF’s finance systems are fully robust to meet all management accounting, financial reporting and management requirements. A key relationship in this will be with the Department for Education.
The Finance Director will be highly self-motivated, intellectually confident and able to relate in a consensual manner under pressure. They will be capable of inspiring, motivating and managing the Foundation’s finance team and engaging effectively with both the Board, senior leadership team, and most senior external stakeholders. They will be highly financially literate and commercial in approach. Candidates must be qualified CCAB accountants. As importantly, they will be skilled in leading a positive ethos and entirely committed to ETF’s vision and values.
