The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is the regulator for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and registered pharmacies in Great Britain. With pharmacies operating at the heart of their communities, and pharmacy professionals in all sectors playing a much greater role in providing clinical care to patients and the public, the GPhC’s job is to protect, promote and maintain the health, safety, and wellbeing of members of the public by upholding standards and public trust in pharmacy. We have created an exciting new role, the Associate Chief Operating Officer – Technology, who will provide technical leadership to the organisation and shape a technology strategy that supports us in delivering our objectives. Reporting directly into the Chief Operating Officer, the postholder will ensure GPhC’s technology is reliable and secure; that the GPhC’s IT road map for business systems, infrastructure and services is aligned to the GPhC’s strategic vision; and understand technology trends and evolution, and where appropriate, build these into the GPhC’s competence.

You will bring experience in a technology leadership role, with a track record in developing technology strategy and implementing digital transformation in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. With strategic leadership, analytical, communication and presentational skills, able to bring a collaborative approach to working both within and outside the organisation. You will also demonstrate expertise and implementation familiarity across a wide array of technologies, with particular emphasis on cloud infrastructure and systems.
