Glenalmond College is one of the UK’s top boarding schools, and its 300-acre campus in the heart of stunning Perthshire is amongst the most picturesque. The school has recently celebrated its 175th anniversary, celebrated by its wonderful community of engaged alumni across the globe. Glenalmond is a fully co-educational school for boys and girls aged 12 – 18, with 360 pupils and over 70% living on campus. Glenalmond offers a breadth of education combining academic excellence with a co-curricular programme that is hard to beat in the sector.
Glenalmond has recently welcomed Mark Mortimer as its new Warden, who brings 20 years of experience in the sector, as previous Headmaster of Bryanston and Warminster. Before his career in teaching Mark spent eight years as an army officer.
The new Chief Operating Officer will be directly responsible for all financial and operational aspects of the school, as well as supporting the Warden to implement the school’s strategy. This will include oversight of the school’s estates masterplan and leadership of all operational staff. The successful candidate will bring an outstanding track record of leadership in an organisation of significant scale and complexity. They will be highly financially and IT literate and capable of explaining complex matters concisely and of working to the highest professional standards with colleagues, the executive and the Council. Most importantly they will bring a high degree of resilience, a can-do attitude which will create a working environment in which people work hard and enjoy being part of the team.
