Janet Young brings with her a wealth of experience in major projects and developing strategies to tackle the challenges of net zero and sustainability. She is hugely ambitious for the organisation and is looking for senior, purpose-driven leaders to support her in delivering on this.
With a history that goes back over 200 years, the ICE is the leading institution for the civil engineering profession with over 95,000 members around the world. It works to promote the work of civil engineers and those working in infrastructure and the importance of the work they do for society. It supports civil engineers in their qualification and professional development, provides research, networking and knowledge exchange and industry events as well as products and services through its commercial arm, Thomas Telford Ltd.
ICE wants to appoint a new Group Finance Director to its Executive Team. Joining at a pivotal moment for the organisation presents an exciting opportunity to support a new leader, the ICE Trustee Board and the Thomas Telford Board in the development of current and future strategy. To support its membership as it works to address the ng challenges of unprecedented climate change and demographic shift, the organisation wants to maintain its strong position as a leading professional institution. The Group FD will be integral to developing the financial vision, good business practice and management of the finance function. They will be a key member the ICE executive team, and will work with the MD of Thomas Telford Ltd to implement its future commercial strategy.
Candidates will be experienced organisational leaders, with a track record of working within a complex organisation. They will bring the requisite financial qualifications and an excellent ability to communicate and influence at a senior level. Candidates will have a track record in developing, motivating and inspiring a finance function and, as part of the senior management, more broadly across the organisation. They will be excited by the potential of leading a robust and trusted finance function to fully support the important work of the ICE and its membership.
