Metanoia Institute
Chief Executive
The Metanoia Institute is a specialist provider of high-quality training in the psychological therapies, operating for more than 30 years. We offer part-time, university validated undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology and allied programmes in Coaching, Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes, Organisational Development and Therapeutic Fostering. At the centre of our mission is the commitment to develop high-quality professional graduates. We are committed not only to teaching and learning excellence but to the innovative organisation and flexible delivery of our teaching, in ways that genuinely respond to the needs of our students and fulfil professional body requirements. We operate fully within Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) guidelines and the Office for Students (OfS) regulation. We also participated in the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework (TEF) and have submitted staff research in 2021 to the Research Excellence Framework (REF). Based in Ealing, London, we currently have over 1,400 students and 150 members of staff, many of whom work part-time.
We are now looking to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic leadership to the Institute at this exciting new stage of our development; as we seek to gain degree awarding powers. Accountable to the Chair of the Board of Trustees, the CEO will lead the Executive and work in collaboration with colleagues to translate strategy into implementation. The CEO is responsible for the financial and operational management of the Institute and will seek to strengthen the Institute’s position as a distinctive specialist provider, continuing to raise its profile. The successful candidate will bring a track record of successful strategic leadership and delivery at a relevant scale, outstanding people management and communication skills, and a strong alignment to the values and mission of the Metanoia Institute. An understanding of the higher education landscape in which the Institute operates and wider experience in, or interest in, psychotherapy would be highly beneficial.
