Deputy Director Business Change Delivery

Job Reference GAQKL
Closing Date Sunday 27 Jul 2025 (Now Expired)

Salary: The role will attract a salary in the range of £86,030 to £107,538 depending on the strength of job-related skills, knowledge and experience.

Location: This role is based at New Scotland Yard in London, although there is scope to work from various Met sites including Newlands Park, Sydenham and Kilburn.

The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is the UK’s largest police force. With over 46,500 officers, staff and volunteers and an annual budget of £4.8 billion, we serve a population of more than 9 million people across 620 square miles of one of the most complex, diverse and dynamic cities in the world.  London is truly unique. As the largest city in Western Europe and one of the most culturally, ethnically and linguistically diverse cities globally, it presents a rare and vital policing challenge – and opportunity.

The Met is undergoing a profound transformation, shaped by our promise to Londoners: More Trust, Less Crime, High Standards. This transformation is guided by the New Met for London strategy, which sets out an ambitious vision for the future of policing in the capital.

We are now seeking a Deputy Director of Business Change Delivery to play a pivotal leadership role in delivering this vision.  Reporting to the Director of Transformation, you will lead the design and delivery of large-scale, people-focused change across the Met. You will ensure transformation initiatives are joined-up, measurable, and embedded across all parts of the organisation. Working in close partnership with senior leaders, including the Commissioner and Met Board, you will champion change that improves operational effectiveness, drives cultural and behavioural shifts, and enables the delivery of sustainable benefits.

You will be a trusted expert on business change, building capability across the transformation community and wider leadership, mitigating change saturation, and supporting Senior Responsible Officers and programme teams to drive delivery. You will bring strategic clarity and delivery confidence at the highest level, while also remaining grounded in the practical realities of organisational change in a complex operational environment.

We are looking for an inspirational and experienced transformation leader – someone with a strong track record of delivering strategic change at scale, exceptional stakeholder skills, and a collaborative, people-first mindset. You will be passionate about public service, energised by challenge, and motivated by the chance to contribute to real, lasting impact for Londoners.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to help shape the future of one of the world’s most high-profile and important public institutions. If you believe you can help lead the change the Met – and London – deserves, we look forward to hearing from you.
