An outstanding independent, co-educational, boarding and day school for 11-18 year olds, the Royal Hospital School (RHS) was founded in London in 1712 by the Crown body and the oldest provider of Royal Naval charity, Greenwich Hospital. RHS moved to its current location in 1933, occupying 200 acres of stunning Suffolk countryside overlooking the River Stour. RHS is now seeking an exceptional Head to lead a school with a unique and impressive heritage and to enhance its multi-award-winning position with a broad and stretching all-round education. The Head is responsible for all aspects of the school’s day to day management. They will work with the Governors to develop, communicate and implement a clear vision and strategy for the school whilst maintaining the highest educational standards.

The successful candidates will be an inspirational and innovative leader who has the credibility and stature to secure the full engagement of all staff and other stakeholders in the delivery of the school’s strategic aims. They will be a collegiate and team orientated leader who is measured and considered in negotiation and decision-making. They will be a strategic thinker, capable of developing high aspirations for the school and building effective stakeholder relationships. They will also share and promote the values and ethos of the school.
