The Brendoncare Foundation

CFO

Job Reference NBFPA2
Closing Date Monday 23 Oct 2023 (Now Expired)

The Brendoncare Foundation is committed to helping older people enjoy life to the full. We provide care and community services to over 2000 older people across the South of England through our portfolio of care homes, assisted living sites and community support services. After a period of change and evolution, Brendoncare is at an exciting juncture as we look to build on our success and deliver our ambitious plans to expand our offering across the complete range of connected services in later life, empowering people to live their whole lives well by championing independence, choice and holistic well-being.

Brendoncare is looking for its next CFO to join its Senior Leadership Team. The CFO will be responsible for the charity’s financial health, as well as for the direction, development, quality and outcomes of the group’s finance function. The post holder will also be responsible for oversight of Estates and IT. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees, they will oversee a range of vital functions whilst contributing to the continuation of our excellent provision of care services. They will provide financial and commercial advice on current and future strategic objectives, as well as supporting the organisation in the development and growth of its estate and business performance.

We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant, with proven experience in a finance and commercial function of comparable scale and complexity. Candidates will bring experience of business modelling, financial planning and analysis, external business financing and developing funding streams for an organisation. Our ideal candidate is a commercially minded individual with a strong empathy towards the charity sector – someone who understands the correlation between healthy finances and outstanding provision.

We want our new CFO to be visible in the organisation and open to both challenge and collaboration to drive forward collective success for the long-term. They will need to be a motivational and compassionate leader, able to inspire teams to be empowered to continually look at ways to deliver an outstanding service.

Whilst it would be of benefit to have someone with experience in leading finances in a social care and/or not-for-profit organisation, we welcome applications from individuals from a diverse range of other sectors.

Brendoncare is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion in all our activities, and we welcome and encourage candidates from under-represented groups to consider applying for this opportunity.
