Water Industry Commission for Scotland (WICS)
Head of Corporate Services
The Water Industry Commission for Scotland (WICS) is a non-departmental public body with statutory responsibilities, acting independently of Ministers.
As economic regulator of the Scottish water and sewerage industry their statutory role is to promote the interests of customers in Scotland by ensuring that they receive high quality services and value for money. It does this by setting prices for water and sewerage services, facilitating competition and monitoring performance. WICS also has a statutory role to support the Scottish Government’s vision of ensuring that Scotland is a Hydro Nation. WICS regularly works with international partners, sharing knowledge and expertise.
WICS is now looking for a key leader to join their team who will lead the corporate team and provide strategic support to the senior leadership team.

Internally, the successful applicant will work with every function of the business, interfacing regularly with the CEO and the senior team. Although this person will oversee a wide variety of services (finance, governance, IT, admin), their own background will be in HR and well-being. The individual should be either CIPD qualified or be able to demonstrate significant and senior experience of roles in HR and well-being leadership.
WICS is currently operating on a remote-working basis. There is an expectation that this role would move to a hybrid basis should WICS open a new office.
