Variety, the Children’s Charity, has been improving the lives of disabled children and children living in poverty across the UK for 75 years. We believe every child deserves the support they need to reach their full potential, and Variety provides practical, tangible help—funding specialist equipment, Sunshine Coaches, and life-changing experiences—to improve the daily reality of the UK’s most vulnerable children. With His Majesty King Charles III as our Royal Patron, a new Chair and an ambitious strategy to double our charitable expenditure over the next three years so we can increase our impact, we are at a pivotal moment in our history. We are seeking a new Trustee who has reached the pinnacle of their career and is now driven by a desire to create a lasting social legacy.

This is a unique and high-impact voluntary role for an exceptional leader who has nothing left to prove in business. Beyond standard governance and strategic oversight, you will act as a superlative connector and door-opener, leveraging a lifetime of high-level relationships to secure transformative corporate partnerships and recruit new major donors. You will utilise your extensive network across the finance, banking, and investment sectors to open doors for Variety, working closely with our new Chair, Andrew Carnie, wider board and the senior leadership team to capture the revenue streams required to meet our ambitious growth goal.

The time commitment is estimated at no more than 12 days per year, including four Board meetings and key strategic donor engagement. Trustees are appointed for an initial three-year term.
