AQA

Director of People

Job Reference HAPAWA
Closing Date Thursday 24 Jun 2021

Here at AQA, we’re committed to advancing education and we’re committed to our people. As the largest provider of academic qualifications in the UK, we mark more than seven million GCSEs and A-levels each year and it’s our people who make this happen.

The education sector is undergoing a period of unprecedented disruption and reform, and the pandemic has brought into sharper relief the need for transformational change. Under the leadership of our new Chief Executive, we are driving an ambitious modernisation and diversification strategy and cultural change agenda, leveraging the strength of our existing platform to take AQA to the next level as an agile and commercially minded organisation. We are committed to pursuing a change agenda which sees us reach beyond our traditional core of general qualifications and into areas such as diagnostic assessment, vocational qualifications, and digital product development, both organically and through mergers and acquisitions.

The scale of change we are looking to deliver will bring with it significant cultural and organisational challenges and opportunities. A clear, forward-thinking, and inclusive people agenda is therefore crucial. The incoming People Director will have a vital role to play in anticipating and responding to these challenges, building an inclusive, business-minded workforce with the right attitudes, skills, development plans and reward structure to reflect AQA’s aims.

You will be an outstanding HR leader with demonstrable experience of delivering cultural change in your organisations. Pragmatic, dynamic and business-focused, you will bring a sophisticated and strategic mindset to AQA and an exciting and innovative approach to improving inclusion across all of our activities. You will help drive our organisational capability, enabling agility and building skills and capacity to support our ambitious agenda.
