Healthy leadership for all our futures
Health and care have become more prominent in all our lives than ever before. In the UK the healthcare sector is at a critical point and requires the very best leadership to navigate an evolving and challenging terrain.
COVID-19 has shone a spotlight on many areas which must be prioritised by leaders to successfully drive improvements. There is much work being done by senior leaders to actively address challenges and implement change, such as increasing staff pipeline; embedding connected digital strategies; and implementing more diversity amongst its own cohort. And all of this is being done against the backdrop of tighter budgets.

Our experience
The sector’s vast and complex levels of change require more diverse, partnership-oriented and data-driven leaders to be appointed across the sector to ensure its future sustainability. At Saxton Bampfylde we are proven partners supporting critically-strategic appointments at the most senior Executive and Non-Executive levels. From start-up healthtech businesses to leading NHS Trusts; from private healthcare businesses to national institutes and emerging NHS system leaders – we advise them all. We know the importance of game-changing leadership appointments for the health and care ecosystem and we are dedicated to finding and guiding them.

An inclusive approach to diversifying leadership
To preserve our populations of the future we need to make sure leaders are on the same page as their people. This is imperative to the health and care sector and as industry-recognised diversity advocates we work hard with clients to address diversity on Boards and Executive teams – however there is always more to be done. We have expanded our award-winning REACH Programme to work in parallel with the NHS, focusing specifically on supporting people from ethnically diverse communities to reach the next level in their careers within health and care.
Road to Recovery: integration, inclusion and innovation in the Healthcare sector
Interview series with senior healthcare leaders
After a period of unprecedented change and challenge for the healthcare sector there is much to reflect upon to help aid recovery. In this reflection we believe that there must be a clear emphasis on learnings – what worked and what didn’t – and how these can be integrated in to delivering meaningful and people-centred models for the future.
Saxton Bampfylde is delighted to bring you a short series of interviews from senior leaders across a range of health and care settings to discuss and demonstrate the importance of learning, challenging and innovating to make a positive impact in their own organisations, and more broadly across the sector. We are very grateful to each interviewee who has generously and honestly shared their experiences and learnings with us.

Live Breathe Data:
Why leaders in healthcare must embrace data to thrive
In a modern world increasingly driven by technology, data and digitisation, the need for the health and care sector to prioritise strategic planning is greater than ever. Our research offers board members in this sector a useful tool to drive forward conversations about the challenges and opportunities that harnessing data presents, as well as the successes that can be achieved by looking at organisations and systems both at home and internationally. Our aim with this report is to encourage boards to proactively consider the ways in which data integration can help deliver strategic priorities across the sector, particularly in terms of preventative treatment, better resource management and partnership working.
