Chief Executive

Job Reference ZBMUA
Closing Date Wednesday 06 Mar 2024

An employee-owned social enterprise, BrisDoc is a proud provider of NHS Healthcare, passionately delivering ‘patient care, by people who care’ for over 20 years. Committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care with a focus on innovation, inclusivity, and sustainable growth, BrisDoc operates within the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucester Integrated Care System (BNSSG).

We run an exciting range of Primary Care Services including the Urgent Care Service for BNSSG, several GP Practices and Bristol’s Homeless Health Service. This enables BrisDoc to offer excellent healthcare 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to over 1 million patients. These services are provided by over 350 staff and wider network of around 170 self-employed GPs. Our income is c£25m and we have healthy reserves of just over £3m. We are proud of the fact that all our services are rated either ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission. Given this wider setting, this is an exciting time for us to welcome a new Chief Executive who will build upon our journey with a focus on innovation and quality.

A social entrepreneur, you will bring a strategic mindset, fostering a co-ownership culture, ensuring continued financial sustainability you’ll drive the organisation towards its mission. The incoming Chief Executive will balance their courage to innovate and dynamic thinking with business acumen and financial awareness to create sustained, step-change growth for BrisDoc. You will not only keep BrisDoc abreast of sector changes but position us at the forefront of patient care.

Enthusiastic and open, you will understand the profound impact of compassionate leadership in a values-based and employee-owned organisation with the genuine ability to create an environment and lead a culture where everyone feels included, valued, and empowered. Politically astute and an influential networker, you will be able to manoeuvre through complex situations and business relationships effectively, ensuring stakeholders are engaged in support of BrisDoc’s aspirations. We are open to candidates with a wide range of backgrounds with experience of operating in highly complex, customer-facing roles, but a demonstrable interest in delivering high quality healthcare is key.
