Brunel University London is a global university, committed to providing education and world-leading research that meets the ever-changing needs of industry and society. Our significant and meaningful partnerships with business, with the NHS and with the third sector mean these are exciting times for Brunel and we are looking for an ambitious Vice-Chancellor who can build on our successes.
The University’s new Vice-Chancellor will inherit a high-performing institution, well positioned to meet the challenges of the future. In addition to developing and delivering an ambitious strategy, they will provide inclusive and visible leadership and continue to deliver an organisational culture in which all colleagues and students feel engaged. They will ensure that the University continues to build on its reputation for excellence in student education, research, community, and global impact, and will champion the student experience in a post-Covid era. Ultimately, the new Vice-Chancellor will strengthen Brunel’s position as a leading multidisciplinary research-intensive technology university with a strong heritage of working closely with businesses, government, and the third sector.
This is an opportunity for a true leader – someone who can inspire, challenge and connect our community. Whether currently based in the UK or overseas, the successful candidate will combine strategic leadership and management experience in a complex setting with an inspirational approach that enthuses young people, and bring the personal presence to represent Brunel regionally, nationally, and internationally. A values-driven individual, they will be credible in providing academic leadership in a research-intensive context and have proven capability in influencing external stakeholders in government, industry and/or the third sector. Financial acumen alongside a good understanding of the issues facing higher education at present are highly desirable attributes.
