The vision of CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) is to create a thriving, sustainable economy that works for people and the planet in the long term. To do this we focus investors, companies and cities measure and understand their environmental impact.
Founded in 2000 and a fully international not for profit, CDP hosts the largest database of self-disclosed environmental data in the world. As Bill Clinton has said, CDP, “enables us to keep score” on the environmental performance of the world’s corporations and cities and is a bedrock for understanding and addressing climate change. In 2018 alone, over 7,000 companies, representing over 50% of global market capitalization, and over 750 cities, states and regions disclosed their environmental data through our online platform.
Technology and data are fundamental to how CDP drives change and how we provide it to the market, for both public good and for commercial use, its critical as we see demand continue to grow exponentially. We are thus now looking for a strategic CIO to join our executive leadership team, to help drive our strategic development in this area.
A strategic thinker you will bring a depth of operational leadership experience in a data organisation, registry or similar organisation, as well as familiarity with customer service operations in a b2b environment, and experience of data management processes including information security, and technology leadership. You will be able to demonstrate experience of leading innovation in technology and data strategy as well as in process design and implementation, quality delivery and operational planning. A collaborative leader and strong communicator, experience in environmental issues is not required, but you will be able to display the passion to help lead a dynamic organisation that is helping to catalyse the changes needed to address the current climate and ecological emergency. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
