At the Community Foundation for Surrey (CFS) we have, for more than 15 years, brought together a wide range of local donors who are driving local philanthropy to support the most marginalised and disadvantaged communities in Surrey.
Despite the perception of Surrey as a prosperous county, there is a hidden side with numerous pockets of deprivation and marked relative poverty, which are all too frequently overlooked. The needs amongst the disadvantaged in our community have become increasingly urgent over the recent year. We have used our unique knowledge to not only step up our response during the pandemic, but also make sure it has been targeted to where the need is greatest. Having raised over £31m since our inception, and with over £3.5m given to Surrey charities in the last year, we now have real ambition to grow this work further and to rapidly increase the impact of our work through game-changing local partnerships.
We are looking to appoint an inspiring, ambitious leader who will develop and deliver a bold new strategy for CFS. The successful candidate will bring a track record of shaping high performing teams, leading organisational management, and executing strategic change. They will bring the gravitas and credibility to build relationships with major players in Surrey and to influence the national body, UK Community Foundations, of which CFS is a member. A deep commitment to our vision and to addressing the challenges facing communities across Surrey will be vital.
