At Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation, our mission is clear – to build the foundations of a healthier society.
For over 500 years, we have been a constant in London’s ever-changing landscape, at the leading edge of health. As one of the largest charitable foundations in the UK, we can take a long-term view, while addressing the real and urgent health issues of today. As an independent foundation, we invest, partner, engage and influence and work with our communities, partners, and hospitals, to tackle health challenges from many angles and use our assets to transform lives. We take a portfolio approach, driving impact in different ways: through our endowment to invest in a healthier society, our NHS charities (Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity, Guy’s Cancer Chairty, and Evelina London
Children’s Charity) and programmatic work through Impact on Urban Health.
We are looking for a new Chief Executive Officer to lead the next phase of our ambitious organisation’s development, after a period of rapid growth and expansion. This is a deeply exciting opportunity to help shape our work and significantly heighten the impact that we can have.
As Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for leading our ambitious organisation. You will lead our Executive Team and work closely with our Board, ensuring continued delivery against our current 5-year (corporate) plan. You will provide strong leadership and guidance across the Foundation, develop a high performing Executive and wider leadership team. You will also nurture an inclusive organisational culture that enables everyone to thrive in an environment that exudes our core values: enterprising, collaborative, delivery-minded and inclusive.
We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of successful leadership in relevant, complex, multi-faceted organisations with demonstrable and clear experience of developing and delivering ambitious strategies and plans. You will have strong team management and inclusive leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop teams. You will have strong relationship building skills, with the communication and influencing skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at every level. You will be mission and impact-driven and strongly aligned to our values.
We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where all belong. We therefore encourage applications from a diverse range of candidates.
