Salary: Competitive

At the RSPCA, we care deeply about animals with a vision of a world where all animals are respected and treated with kindness and compassion. We ensure that animals have a good life by rescuing and caring for those in need, by advocating on their behalf and by inspiring everyone to treat them with compassion and respect.

In this, our 200th anniversary year, the future of our organisation and our ambitions, has never been brighter, powered by our passionate and committed team of over 1,700 staff and more than 5000 volunteers, alongside our bold and ambitious new strategy to lead us to 2030.

Having undergone a significant period of transformation, we are in the midst of an exciting journey to become a more resilient and robust organisation, with the sustainable finances, the agility and the positive, inclusive culture to respond to our challenging operational environment.

In support of our new strategy, we are now looking to appoint a new Assistant Director of Organisational Design and Development to work directly with the Director of People and Culture and senior leaders on the design, structures, processes, development and execution of strategies and initiatives that enhance the overall performance, culture, and impact of the RSPCA. The post holder will be a key driver and support to our work to transform the RSPCA’s organisational design, to meet its future demands, working closely with colleagues on broad transformation initiatives such as culture change, as well as overseeing the delivery of the Learning, Talent and Development plan.

We are looking for an experienced leader in Organisational Design and Development, workforce design and development, including the design of culture change programmes; or a related field in a complex environment, ideally with some charity based experience. Strong understanding of Organisational Design and Development theories, structures and diagnostics, Business Architecture methodologies, and best practices will be expected, as well as experience of leading or leading part of organisational design and development initiatives, in the transformation of a relatable, complex organisation. You will need to demonstrate the communication and interpersonal skills, to influence and collaborate across an organisation with diverse stakeholders.

We recognise that a diverse and inclusive workforce is essential to achieving our core mission. For this reason we actively encourage a wide diversity of applications.
