At the RSPCA, we care deeply about animals with a vision of a world where all animals are respected and treated with kindness and compassion. We ensure that animals have a good life by rescuing and caring for those in need, by advocating on their behalf and by inspiring everyone to treat them with compassion and respect.

In this, our 200th anniversary year, the future of our organisation and our ambitions, has never been brighter, powered by our passionate and committed team of over 1,700 staff and more than 5000 volunteers, alongside our bold and ambitious new strategy to lead us to 2030.

Having undergone a significant period of transformation, we are in the midst of an exciting journey to become a more resilient and robust organisation, with the sustainable finances, the agility and the positive, inclusive culture to respond to our challenging operational environment.

In support of our new strategy, we now have the fantastic opportunity to appoint a new Director of People & Culture,  to build on the excellent work achieved to date. You will continue the development of our transformation agenda, supporting our people and positioning the RSPCA as a great place to work, where our colleagues and volunteers are proud to belong. As a key member of our executive leadership team, you will be a key contributor to our strategic and operational evolution and embody our values and the culture we aim to create.

We are looking for an experienced, strategic and values driven HR leader with a track record of developing effective, efficient and diverse organisations, operating at executive board level in an organisation of relevant scale. As a senior people leader, you will bring experience of leading and successfully delivering transformative organisational design and in developing engaged, positive and inclusive, operating cultures.

You will be a collaborative and inspiring leader, used to working with a wide range of stakeholders including union relationships, and will bring the ability to work fluently across a range of issues, including learning and development, EDI best practice and organisational-wide culture and performance.

We recognise that a diverse and inclusive workforce is essential to achieving our core mission. For this reason we actively encourage a wide diversity of applications.
