SafeLives

Chief Executive

Job Reference RBLZA
Closing Date Wednesday 03 Jan 2024

Salary: £95-99k

SafeLives’ mission is to end domestic abuse and the harm it causes, by focusing on the whole family.  We have a track record of driving change through a combination of practical advice, high quality data and the voice of those with lived experience.  We influence change at all levels: nationally across the UK and locally, within both the voluntary and statutory sectors.  We change systems, frontline practice, the national conversation – and lives. This is vital work for our next CEO to drive forward and there is real opportunity to make a difference.

We are looking for an ambitious and mission-driven leader to be our next CEO. You will help us refresh our strategy and lead the delivery of it, define our role in ending domestic abuse and help us to deliver our ambitions.  We would welcome applications from candidates with demonstrable experience of effective execution of a vision and strategic direction they have set and clear evidence of maximising impact. Building on SafeLives’ track record of driving change and influencing across sectors, candidates will bring experience in leading and building effective partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders – from survivors of domestic abuse to Government ministers, funders and the media. You will bring strong professional networks to boost our fundraising efforts and influence with Governments. An effective spokesperson, you will help us raise the profile of our work nationally and highlight the contribution we are making to ending domestic abuse.

Our next CEO will be a confident, big picture thinker who is also pragmatic and practical, and able to empower and harness the collective knowledge of our highly motivated team and partners, as well as our Board.  You will be an inclusive leader, committed to EEDI, and embody our values: human, rigorous and brave.

We believe there is no ‘them and us’ in domestic abuse, and we place lived experience of domestic abuse at the heart of all we do. We are committed to achieving a culture of equality and inclusion for all, and we welcome and encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
