Special Projects Director

Job Reference UAIAUB
Closing Date Monday 18 Jan 2021

Location: Southampton
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000

Founded more than 200 years ago in 1818, Sailors’ Society is dedicated to caring for merchant seafarers: the 1.6 million men and women who keep the world’s economy moving.
Our work over many years has been to build strong, trusted and fruitful relationships across the maritime sector to benefit seafarers and their families, around the world, ‘at home, at sea and in port’. As a leading maritime welfare charity, frequently pioneering in its approach, the Society has long recognised the importance of partnerships both with funding and delivery.
Our ideal Special Project Director will work with us to implement the new 2021 strategy, taking forward new projects and process, ensuring they are implemented, embedded and delivering expected outcomes. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading and delivering a hugely varied range of projects that form part of the new strategy ranging from culture change to infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will be an experienced strategic leader with a senior project delivery background. We would welcome an applicant who is open to new ideas and opportunities and who values variety in their work. Knowledge of the maritime industry would be helpful but not a critical prerequisite. If you are strategic in your thinking but have a hands-on approach, value collaborative working and have a positive attitude, then we would love to hear from you.
