With a rich history and thoroughly modern outlook, St John’s Winchester is one of the oldest charities in England. St John’s provides almshouses, specialist residential dementia care, and support in their own homes for older people in the city of Winchester.
The charity currently provides care and support to around 160 older people – 95 in our almshouses, 25 in our Moorside dementia care home and 40 in their own homes. Since its establishment and through many bequests and endowments, St John’s has built up a substantial commercial and residential property portfolio which is now managed in order to generate income to fund its charitable activities.
The board of trustees are looking to appoint three new trustees to join the board this year, including a senior leader with clinical experience and/or experience gained in the social care sector at a senior level. This person will be an inspiring individual who will provide strategic governance in line with St John’s vision. This is an exciting time for the charity looking to strengthen the board’s knowledge and skills in key areas.
The successful candidate will play a full role as a trustee in all aspects of St John’s governance and will have a clear affinity with St John’s charitable aims in addition to a commitment to social care.
