The Felix Project

CEO

Job Reference UAQALA
Closing Date Thursday 05 Aug 2021

At The Felix Project, we are striving for a London where nobody goes hungry, and good food is never wasted.

No one should have to miss a meal, but right now, millions of people in the UK regularly experience hunger. Yet tonnes of surplus food perfectly good for human consumption is thrown away every day, contributing huge levels of greenhouse gases in the process. At The Felix Project, we rescue food that cannot be sold and would otherwise go to waste. This food is in-date, safe and nutritious. We collect or receive deliveries from supermarkets, wholesalers, farms, restaurants, delicatessens and many other businesses and check, sort and then deliver this food. We work with charities that cook meals and prepare food parcels for vulnerable people, as well as primary schools, holiday clubs and play schemes for children and their families.

This is an exciting time to join our young and dynamic charity – we have the huge ambition of delivering 100 million meals a year by 2024, following the considerable growth in our operations over the last 18 months. We are also opening a new East London depot, as well as Felix’s Kitchen, a professional kitchen creating as many as 30,000 fresh, nutritious meals weekly and creating our first employability scheme.

This is a leadership role that will play a key part in The Felix Project’s big ambitions for the future, following a significant growth period. We are looking for an experienced, credible leader to join us as our next CEO. We are looking for someone who is capable of leading organisational strategic transformational change and development, and a highly efficient and resilient model of logistical delivery, whilst continuing to effectively manage and develop our staff, volunteers, and the communities we support. This will be a leader with a strong track record of delivering first class operational results in a fast-paced organisation, who is values-driven, people focused and ambitious for the future. You will be an inspirational, innovative leader with strategic thinking skills, financial and commercial acumen, and the ability to communicate compellingly with a wide range of stakeholders and partners.

Reflecting the diverse communities that The Felix Project is proud to support, we are committed to finding a CEO who is dedicated to furthering diversity and inclusion within the charity. We actively and warmly encourage applications therefore from a broad and deep range of backgrounds and experiences.
