The Lightbox is an award-winning charitable arts and heritage organisation with a social purpose to improve the wellbeing and quality of life of its community. Opened in 2007, the purpose-built contemporary gallery and museum was designed by Marks Barfield Architects, and is arguably one of the most exciting cultural spaces in the South East of England. The Lightbox’s diverse cultural programme includes exhibitions featuring world-renowned artists, local heritage, talks and tours, social events and arts and crafts workshops for all ages, including free drop-in sessions for families. The organisation also delivers charitable ventures such as its Art and Wellbeing programme which provides opportunities for those who would otherwise not be able to access arts and heritage services to take part in creative workshops.
