UCAS is the route to studying at UK universities. As an independent charity, its aim is to secure its place as the single destination for progression in education, not just for aspiring university students, but also for 16 year olds making crucial decisions after their GCSEs, for postgraduate study, for training as a teacher, and for entering the world of work after graduating. Its vision is to be at the heart of connecting people to higher education.
UCAS now seeks an exceptional person to join as Trustee during a time of excitement in its evolution. This person will contribute to the development of a growing organisation, with a refreshed corporate strategy, which faces an uncertain national and sectoral environment. As a member of a high-functioning Board, they will be expected to contribute broadly to UCAS’s strategy, ranging from its renewed focus on apprenticeship, post-graduate, and international offerings to the commercial opportunities presented by its subsidiary, UCAS Media.
The successful candidate will possess a track record of success in the leadership of a commercial or not-for-profit organisation; experience in a consumer facing environment, ideally with an understanding of young people, is particularly sought. This person may come from a variety of backgrounds, though UCAS welcomes applications from individuals with experience in marketing, business development, and product strategy. Candidates should have an understanding of a technologically enabled environment and an affinity for UCAS’s vision and purpose.
UCAS is committed to equality, and values diversity in its workforce, and on its Boards. We welcome and encourage applications from all candidates, in line with the Equality Act 2010. We would particularly welcome expressions of interest from minority and underrepresented groups, as we strive for better equality and diversity on the Board. All information you send will be kept secure, in line with the Data Protection Act 2018.
