Victim Support

Chief Executive Officer

Job Reference NBFNA
Closing Date Monday 12 Dec 2022

Salary: Circa £110,000, dependent on experience

Victim Support is the leading charity in England and Wales that supports people affected by crime and traumatic incidents. We provide personalised support to help people manage after crime and feel safer through a combination of dedicated specialist services as well as on-line support. We also ensure victims know their rights and we campaign to make them stronger. We are a truly independent organisation that delivers our services both through local teams embedded in the communities in which they live and work, as well as nationally.

We are looking for a new CEO to lead Victim Support and continue our journey with victims at the heart of everything we do. This is a significant role where your influence and impact can truly improve lives.

You will be an experienced leader who appreciates and understands the political and commercial commissioning landscape, as well as the social context for delivering Victim Support’s type of services. You will bring strong strategic, commercial acumen and proven delivery skills in a geographically dispersed organisation. You will also, ideally, have experience of working in a policy and influencing context and relish the chance to make Victim Support an even more prominent platform for the voices of victims and witnesses.

We are looking for an excellent communicator who will share our compassion and commitment to victims’ rights. Leading our Executive team, 1,200 staff and 600 volunteers in an ever-changing and challenging political and commissioning landscape, you will enjoy working collaboratively with your senior leadership team and staff, building open, positive relationships both internally and externally and maintaining an excellent organisational culture.

Victim Support is strongly committed to increasing the diversity of our organisation and proud to be an organisation where people with lived experience of the issues we work on are found at every level. We actively welcome applications from all sectors and backgrounds, and applicants with relevant personal, as well as professional, experience are therefore strongly encouraged to apply.
