Anthem appoints Mohsen Ojja as Chief Executive

Anthem Schools Trust has announced the appointment of Mohsen Ojja as its new Chief Executive, with effect from 1 January 2023.

He succeeds Andy Yarrow, Anthem’s CEO of five years who left the Trust at the end of August to become CEO of The Prospect Trust, a multi-academy trust based in Hampshire.

Mohsen will be joining Anthem from The Mossbourne Federation in East London, where he was Deputy CEO for two years before becoming Acting CEO in January. Prior to that, Mohsen was National Director of Education at E-ACT, having been a successful Principal of the Crest Academy in North London. He is a highly motivated leader with extensive experience of working with schools in areas of high deprivation, and an uncompromising commitment to equality of opportunities for all.

Commenting on his appointment, Mohsen said:

“I’m absolutely delighted to be appointed as the new Chief Executive of Anthem Schools Trust and it’s a real privilege to be building on what Andy has achieved over the past five years.

“I’m looking forward to working with the Anthem team as we move into this next chapter and bring our collective skill to bear in making sure we are doing everything we can to deliver an exceptional education for every pupil in our care. Whilst these are undoubtedly challenging times for the sector, I am determined that together we will make sure that Anthem schools go from strength to strength.”

Jay Bhutani, Chair of Anthem Trustees, said:

“The Trustees are delighted to welcome Mohsen as CEO. He brings to the Trust an infectious and relentless passion for school improvement that will help us realise our vision of creating schools where every child thrives.  His proven track record in working with children and their communities to improve students’ life chances exemplifies Anthem’s values of integrity, collaboration, and excellence.”
